OT Network & Infrastructure Engineer

Company: IT4Automation

Sector: Operational Technology / Critical National Infrastructure

Role type: Full-time

Location: Epsom Surrey

Salary: £28-£36K

Start date: October 2026

About IT4Automation

IT4Automation provides specialist project, NOC and SOC services for Operational Technology environments, with a focus on Critical National Infrastructure.

We work with organisations where reliability, security and operational continuity really matter. Our team supports industrial networks, infrastructure and cyber monitoring services across environments where downtime and poor change control can have significant real-world impact.

We are a small, capable and growing business with a strong engineering culture. Our team works closely together, supports one another and takes pride in delivering high-quality work for customers in complex operational environments.

The Role

We are looking for an OT Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join our engineering team.

This is a hands-on technical role covering a mix of:

  • OT network and infrastructure project delivery
  • NOC / SOC service desk support
  • Customer site work
  • Monitoring and incident response
  • Internal systems improvement
  • Technical documentation and change control

You will work alongside experienced engineers across external projects, managed service operations and internal improvement initiatives.

This role would suit someone with a 2-5 year background in network engineering, infrastructure support, cyber operations or industrial systems who is looking to develop within the specialist field of Operational Technology.

OT experience is useful, but not essential. The right attitude, technical curiosity and willingness to learn are just as important.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of OT network infrastructure.
  • Working with switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs and associated infrastructure.
  • Supporting NOC / SOC service desk operations.
  • Monitoring alerts, incidents, tickets and service requests.
  • Troubleshooting network, infrastructure and security-related issues.
  • Supporting customer projects from preparation through to delivery and handover.
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation, diagrams and configuration records.
  • Assisting with monitoring, logging, backup and resilience improvements.
  • Supporting secure remote access, segmentation and cyber security improvements.
  • Working on customer sites where required.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of internal processes, tooling and standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
