Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for your next leadership opportunity?
Norwich City Council is seeking an ambitious and motivated Occupational Therapy Team Leader to join our growing Health & Housing Improvement Service. This is a newly created role, reflecting the continued growth and development of the service and our commitment to delivering high quality, person-centred support that helps residents live independently and safely in their own homes.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Occupational Therapists and Assistant Practitioners delivering assessments for disabled adaptations, Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) and housing-related interventions. You will provide professional leadership, clinical supervision and operational management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality assessments and adaptation recommendations that make a tangible difference to people's lives.
As Occupational Therapy Team Leader, You Will
- Lead, support and develop a team of Occupational Therapists and Assistant Practitioners.
- Provide professional and clinical oversight for complex adaptation cases.
- Manage a small caseload of complex assessments, delivering expert occupational therapy interventions.
- Act as a specialist adviser on disabled adaptations, housing accessibility and independent living solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement through performance management, quality assurance and reflective practice.
- Work closely with housing, surveying, social care, health and voluntary sector partners to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
- Represent Norwich City Council within countywide integrated housing adaptation partnerships and strategic forums.
We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist with substantial post-qualification experience in housing adaptations.
You will have experience of managing complex cases and working collaboratively across health, housing and social care settings. A strong understanding of Disabled Facilities Grants, the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is essential.

- All employees are eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
- Paid holiday entitlement starts at 26 days per annum and increases with length of service to a maximum of 33 days per annum. This is pro rata for part-time employees
