Base Location: Portsmouth

Salary: £45,452 - £54,311 and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Operational Technology (OT) Technician to join the SSEN Distribution OT team. As a junior member of the Support & Engineering team, you will contribute to supporting the Distribution Control Centres by ensuring the efficient operation of all OT applications. This role offers the opportunity to develop an existing skillset and participate in internal and external training activities. Responsibilities include providing timely responses to requests and fault reports, proactively monitoring system performance, and assisting in incident resolution across our diverse OT systems.

You Will

  • Contribute to the investigation and resolution of faults in our OT applications
  • Collaborate proactively with the Distribution Control Centres and team members to identify, analyse, and resolve OT system issues
  • Develop a knowledge of OT technologies and work towards building expertise in their operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement within the OT domain
  • Participate in the cybersecurity of OT systems by proactively monitoring and assessing their operational health and security status. This will also include actively engaging in live and simulated cyber response activities and knowledge sharing sessions
  • Assist with vulnerability management of systems by working with OT/IT teams to assess and address vulnerabilities, helping to reduce the attack vector across the OT environment

You Have

  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills to meet and exceed the needs of our customers and suppliers
  • An understanding of the key difference between OT / IT and the challenges faced working in an operational technology environment
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team is fundamental to this role
  • Experience of supporting applications, including incident and problem management and change management. This is not essential as training will be provided
