Lead Cardiac Physiologist | Cardiology | Spire St Anthony’s Hospital

Uniting specialist clinical expertise and a commitment to cardiac care, Spire St Anthony’s Hospital offers an exciting opportunity for a Lead Cardiac Physiologist to join their innovative Cardiothoracic team.
As the Lead Clinical Physiologist, you will spearhead expert care in cardiac investigations, ensuring outstanding service in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiology Outpatents. You will be accountable to the Department Manager, supervising staff across these clinical environments, and driving the delivery of high-quality care for patients throughout diagnosis and intervention.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical leadership in a wide range of cardiology investigations, ensuring full compliance with medical guidelines.
- Perform advanced, high-complexity procedures, including:
- Electrophysiology (EPS labs, pacemaker/defibrillator implants)
- Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) (cardiac resynchronisation therapy)
- Cardiac Catheter Lab interventions (percutaneous coronary interventions)
- Non-invasive Cardiac Physiology (echo, stress testing)
- Operate at independent practitioner level, providing expert input on all aspects of patient care, deploying your extensive technical and clinical knowledge.

Deliver services in high-pressure environments, including itm, Cath Lab, patient rooms, and outpatient departments.

Enforce departmental policies, auditing equipment performance and technical processes to optimise patient outcomes.

Oversee departmental workflows, delegating responsibilities among staff to ensure sustainable, high-quality care.
Person Specification
Requirements
- A degree in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or an equivalent qualification.
- Specialised experience in:
- Coronary angiography
- Electrophysiology (EPS/ablation)
- Pacemaker & defibrillator implantation
- Strong clinical competence across multiple substates of cardiology (non-invasive as well as invasive), backed by practical expertise.
- Professional standards:
- Proven detail-oriented thinking, underpinned by relevant scientific and medical knowledge.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to support patients, clinicians, and colleagues.
- Technological aptitude, capable of operating in advanced, cutting-edge settings.
