Out of Hours Security Supervisor
About the Role:
As an Out of Hours Security Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for the client, their employees and visitors. You’ll oversee the security team outside standard working hours, ensuring duties are completed efficiently, site requirements are communicated effectively and high standards of security and customer service are consistently maintained.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervise daily security operations, leading and supporting the security team to ensure duties are completed efficiently and the required standards of performance and professionalism are maintained.
- Communicate important site information, ensuring night and weekend teams are aware of upcoming events and operational requirements, reporting issues to management and keeping colleagues informed of relevant developments.
- Maintain a visible security presence by conducting regular foot patrols throughout designated areas, helping to deter criminal activity and protect the client’s property and assets.
- Provide professional front-of-house support, acting as a point of contact for staff and visitors, carrying out identification checks and providing information and assistance when required.
- Respond effectively to incidents and emergencies, dealing with conflict appropriately, making sound decisions under pressure and taking the necessary action to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Complete accurate incident reports and records, documenting incidents to the standard expected by management and ensuring relevant information is communicated and escalated appropriately.
- Promote health and safety and effective team working, remaining vigilant to potential risks, supporting colleagues and demonstrating initiative when resolving issues or working independently.
- Maintain excellent communication standards, communicating professionally with colleagues, management and visitors through verbal, written, telephone and security radio channels.
What we’re looking for?
- Ability to provide a minimum of 5 years' checkable employment, education and/or unemployment history in line with BS7858 vetting requirements.
- A valid SIA Licence and at least one year's proven experience as a Security Supervisor.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate, support and manage a team effectively while ensuring operational requirements are met.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with colleagues, management, staff and visitors.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional approach to dealing with people and managing challenges.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to operate security detection systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess security issues, identify appropriate solutions and respond confidently to incidents.
- A high standard of personal presentation, professionalism and integrity, representing Ward Security and the client positively at all times.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to attendance and the ability to work the specified night and weekend shift pattern.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative, independence and a proactive approach to maintaining security standards.
- Strong awareness of health and safety risks, with the ability to remain vigilant and take appropriate action to protect people, property and assets.

Pay Rate:
£15.28 per hour
Shift Pattern:
Week 1 – Monday to Wednesday nights, Saturday and Sunday days. Week 2 – Thursday to Sunday nights.
