As an international wholesaler, R & E Bamford Ltd serves local, national, and global customers across diverse markets. With around 50 employees and an annual turnover of approximately £12 million, the company operates as a well-established SME with a strong reputation and long-standing customer relationships.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Outbound Sales & Administration role based in Leyland. The role involves managing outbound sales calls and communications to existing and prospective customers, with a focus on promoting specialist animal feed products and generating new business opportunities. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying leads, maintaining accurate records in sales and CRM systems, preparing quotations, and following up on inquiries to convert leads into orders. The position also requires providing responsive customer service, processing orders, coordinating with internal teams such as logistics and production, and handling general administrative duties to support smooth sales operations. The successful candidate will work closely with management to meet sales targets, contribute to account growth, and uphold the company’s standards of service and professionalism.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Outbound Sales and Sales skills, with experience in reaching out to prospective customers and handle inbound customer calls and enquiries from all trade customers.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills, with a focus on building long-term relationships and resolving queries efficiently.
- Promote and upsell current product promotions and offers & support customers with general account/invoice enquiries.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Relevant experience in manufacturing, wholesale, or animal feed/agricultural products is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including accurate data entry and proficiency with Microsoft suite programs, ERP/CRM systems.
- Ability to work on-site in Leyland fulltime, manage time effectively, and meet agreed sales and productivity targets.
- Liaise with internal teams, including (but not exclusively) manufacturing, warehouse and finance, alongside support in these departments in times of sickness/holiday cover.
- A background in sales, business administration, and/or a manufactured related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.

- Previous experience in an outbound telesales role, direct sales role, sales support or customer services.
- Strong sales administration and organisational skills, a problem solver and communicator.
- Comfortable handling regular customer calls and building relationships.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams and Excel, and any additional CRM or ERP systems.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a busy office environment.
- An interest in the sectors of Pigeon/Wild bird/Aviary or pet health and nutrition is advantageous.
- Willing to learn and engage with all company training, engagement and events.
