Grade 7 SP 23 – £28.55 – SP 33 £33.35 p/hr
Details
We are seeking an experienced tutor to develop and deliver our community exercise courses:
Work Fit – A series of gentle exercise classes supporting individuals in getting fit for work by improving their physical and mental health. Held onsite at Sutton College.
The programme is made up of 3 courses, each running for 8 weeks of 1hr sessions, planned for Wednesdays 16:00.
There may also be the possibility of other exercise courses being developed in conjunction with the successful candidate.
The post holder will ensure high-quality delivery through the implementation of Quality Assurance processes and contribute to the College’s growth by supporting a vibrant curriculum and aim to achieve excellent learner outcomes. Additionally, the role involves assisting with focused curriculum development, personalised employment support, and learner progression. The post holder will help meet the College’s strategic goals, and will collaborate with the Head of Curriculum & Quality to deliver a high-quality programme aligned with learner and employer needs.

We are very interested in tutors who are able to support learners to:
- Achieve their personal goals on the course they have enrolled
- Gain life skills within and outside the classroom
- Prepare learners for their next steps in learning or work
You should have a passion for teaching, good subject knowledge, and a desire to develop and enhance learners’ opportunities.
You Should Have Experience Of
- Teaching in Adult Education or Further education post 16 college/ training environment.
- Experience of teaching a range of levels in the subject area
- Experience of quality improvement processes which support and develop practice

Professional Experience
- An appropriate teaching qualification for the Post 16 Sector (e.g. DET / Cert. Ed. or equivalent) and/or willingness to complete a L4 qualification within the 1st year of appointment
- A qualification in the subject specialism (to at least Level 4 e.g. HND, 1st Degree), or an in-depth knowledge and a minimum of 3 years’ substantial experience in the subject area you are applying for
- Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) qualifications in English & Mathematics
