Role Description

The Outreach Officer is a full-time on-site role based at Accidental Theatre in Belfast. This role is responsible for developing and delivering outreach initiatives that connect local communities, independent artists, and community groups with the theatre’s programmes, spaces, and resources.

Day-to-day tasks include:

• Planning and coordinating community events and workshops
• Building relationships with partner organisations
• Promoting participation in initiatives such as “Talk to the Professionals”
• Engaging directly with diverse and vulnerable groups
• Gathering feedback
• Using research to inform accessible and inclusive outreach activities

The Outreach Officer will:

• Maintain clear communication across internal teams
• Track participation and impact
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Accidental Theatre’s community and advocacy work

Qualifications

• Strong Community Engagement and Community Outreach skills to build relationships with diverse groups and support inclusive participation.
• Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with artists, community partners, and participants.
• Event Management experience to plan, coordinate, and deliver workshops, performances, and community-focused activities.
• Research skills to identify community needs, assess programme impact, and inform outreach strategies.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, fairness, and culturally sensitive practice, particularly in community or arts settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment and to manage projects independently when required.
• Experience in arts, culture, education, or community development is highly beneficial.
• Relevant education or training in community work, arts management, or a related field is an advantage but not essential with strong practical experience.
