At BCHA, we’re looking for a caring and motivated Outreach Support Worker to join our team and provide flexible, person-centred support to young people in the community.
As an Outreach Support Worker, you’ll work alongside young people to help them overcome challenges, develop confidence and achieve their goals. You’ll provide practical and emotional support, helping young people build independence, strengthen their skills and access opportunities that support their wellbeing and future aspirations.
This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll build trusting relationships with young people, understand their individual circumstances and provide support that is respectful, empowering and focused on their strengths.

In this role, you will:
- Provide tailored outreach support to young people, helping them identify and achieve their personal goals.
- Build positive, trusting relationships through consistent and compassionate support.
- Support young people with practical tasks, life skills, wellbeing, education, training, employment and community engagement.
- Work in a trauma-informed way, recognising each young person’s experiences and supporting them to develop resilience and confidence.
- Encourage independence, positive choices and meaningful connections within the community.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies, including education, health, social care and other local services.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to support planning and reviews.

- Someone who is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives.
- A compassionate and approachable person who can build strong, professional relationships.
- Experience supporting young people or individuals who need additional support is desirable.
- The ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of a wider team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people.

DBS checks are required for roles where you will be working with or have lone contact with Vulnerable Adults and Children. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check.

Requirements:
- Ability to lone work; following internal guidance and safety procedures
- Ability to manage young people’s behaviour in line with risk management plans and with aim of minimising exclusions/unplanned departures
- Ability to liaise and work cohesively with internal and external groups, forums and partners
- Experience Writing Basic Reports, Letters And Other Correspondence
- Moderate level of IT literacy including email, Word
