About The Role
About the Outreach Out of Hours and Duty Team
To add to our expanding team of amazing and dedicated staff in the Out of Hours and Duty team; we are seeking to recruit an Evening Support Worker. As part of our out-of-hours service, you could be supporting service users that could be families, asylum seekers, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children or young people leaving care.
This role will be covering the Liverpool/ Manchester and Preston area with shifts initially 2 pm until 12 am (10 hours shift) or 12-12 a 12-hour shift to complete 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next. This will be Monday - Sunday. There may be some flexibility with the hours so please discuss with us upfront and we will see if we can accommodate.
Cover is over 7 days a week so the successful applicant can expect to work alternating weekends. Shift times may vary depending on service user's needs.
Due to the area this role covers a car driver with a vehicle is essential.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working within this sector, looking to make a difference with our service users and will be looking for a challenging but rewarding role.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Handling emergency referrals
- Providing welfare visits to Service Users who have recently moved in
- Managing a caseload of Service Users who have evening support needs
- Dealing with ASB and noise complaints
- Responding to emergencies
Essential
- Previous experience working with and supporting people with complex support needs
- Comfortable with lone-working
- Experience working anti-social hours
- Resilience and the ability to work and support a diverse mixture of service users
- Travel is essential so you must hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle
- Computer literate
- Good interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge of safeguarding adults and children
- Have or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification
