Field Technician Role at MasTec Communications Group
About the Role
MasTec Communications Group is a leading national infrastructure construction company operating across the United States. We specialise in wireline and wireless communication services, including:
- Cell tower construction
- RF engineering
- Broadband fiber optic cable installation
- Outside Plant (OSP) engineering
- Wireline construction

Responsibilities
As a Fielder, you will:
- Conduct site visits within designated markets
- Take legible field notes for construction drawings in:
- Aerial applications
- Buried applications
- Underground applications
- Building applications
- Analyze work sites and design requests to determine project scope
- Ensure projects are completed on time while maintaining quality standards
- Monitor details closely and communicate concerns or updates with the OSP Designer
- Represent MasTec professionally when interacting with internal and external clients
- Strictly follow company safety policies and protocols

Requirements

Preferred (but not required):
- Understanding of telecom, fiber, and outside plant (OSP) systems
- Familiarity with utilities, cabling, or construction
- Experience using Microsoft Visio for field notes

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or technical/community college coursework (preferred)
- Authorised to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Record review + compliant with company safety standards)
- Willingness to clinically adapt, seek training, and stay updated on engineering best practices
- Local to market for site surveys (threshold for remote no exceptions)

Compensation: $25–$35 per hour
