Job Scope

We are looking for Overhead Lines Specialists from the UK to work in Ireland. The overhead line training specialist is responsible for delivering technical training for ESB Networks approvals, ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Needs to Have

  • At least three to five years’ experience with a proven understanding of Technical ESBN systems and processes
  • Experience in power sector is a distinct advantage
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Strong organisational and planning ability
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience of safety protocols and precautions on ESBN OHL
  • Safe Pass
  • Full Drivers License

Needs to Do

  • Responsible for selection of candidates to train for ESBN approvals
  • Delivering training and development of all roles that require ESBN approvals covering (theory & practical)
  • Preparing candidates for the ESBN approvals course including theory & practical to ESB standards
  • Training and Mentoring Linespersons/PICW/PICP/Machine Operators/TCO Operator/Work Organiser and PIW post approval
  • To act as a point of contact for technical challenges, questions, or queries
  • Management of formal written & practical assessment process
  • Ability to develop and implement new procedures and new requirements based on ESB requirements
  • Manage ESB approval process
  • Liaising with the client/ESBN for organising client training and assessments
  • Ensure all training logs associated with candidates ESBN Approval process are completed correctly and in a timely manner to submit ESBN in advance of assessments
  • Responsible for liaising with relevant stakeholders on safety, logistics, organisation of training, updates on training, and management of approvals
  • Ensure competency assessments are completed post approval along with identifying and completing further training that may be required post assessments
  • Responsible for delivering practical training on-site which may require travel nationwide
  • Ensure all training is compliant with current legislation and company standards
  • Any other duties as assigned
