Role Description
Role: Engineer NextGen IAM
Location: Sheffield, UK
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: 65 GBP per hour Inside IR35
Responsibilities
- Experience: 7 to 11
- Develop and maintain cloud-native identity services and platform components
- Build APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations
- Implement features aligned with engineering standards and solution designs
- Develop secure integrations with enterprise identity platforms and third-party services
- Implement authentication, authorization, and identity federation capabilities
- Support Human Identity Agent Identity and Workload Identity solutions
- Develop and maintain Policy-as-Code integrations and authorization services
- Build and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations where required
- Participate in design reviews and peer code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve application platform and integration issues
- Support deployments across development, testing, and production environments
- Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks
- Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and resilience requirements
- Collaborate with Platform Engineers, Security Engineers, Architects, and Product Owners
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation initiatives
- Support monitoring, logging, and observability capabilities
- Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies and team activities
- Identify automation opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support production incidents and problem management activities
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and engineering best practices

- Strong Software Engineering experience
- Experience in Cloud-Native Application Development
- Strong API Development and REST API expertise
- Experience designing and developing Microservices architectures
- Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture patterns
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Git-based source control
- Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles and tools
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices
- Experience with Identity Standards such as OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM
- Knowledge of Secure Coding Practices
- Experience with Software Testing and Automation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in complex enterprise environments
