Role Description
The Owner role at Youth Against Hunger is a full-time, on-site position based in Newport. The Owner is responsible for setting the organization’s vision and strategy, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring programs effectively support individuals experiencing food insecurity. The Owner will lead fundraising efforts, represent the organization at events and meetings, and develop initiatives that expand outreach and impact. This role also involves monitoring program performance, implementing process improvements, and fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, organizational management, or running a nonprofit or small business.
- Strong skills in community outreach, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building with partners, donors, and volunteers.
- Ability to manage budgets, oversee fundraising activities, and ensure responsible financial stewardship.
- Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation within social services, community development, or related fields.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities, with a collaborative working style.
- Comfort making decisions, prioritizing tasks, and handling multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of food insecurity, hunger-relief initiatives, or public health issues is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices, with a passion for serving youth and vulnerable communities.
- Relevant education or training in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, business, or a related area is preferred.
