Job Description: Social Media Executive

Company: Oxbridge Summer Scholars

Location: Fully remote (within UK)

About Us

Oxbridge Summer Scholars (OSS) is an internationally operated educational organisation delivering residential academic enrichment programmes in the UK, hosted at Oxford and Cambridge college venues.

Our two-week programmes give ambitious 14 to 18-year-olds from around the world the chance to study Medicine, Law, Business, or Science and Technology alongside expert tutors, while living and learning inside historic Oxford and Cambridge colleges. OSS is an independent organisation and is not affiliated with the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge.

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative, camera-comfortable Social Media Executive to own OSS's Instagram and TikTok presence and build out our footprint on other platforms. This is a fully remote role. You will plan, film, edit, and post content that captures life at our programmes, follow trends closely enough to adapt them to our brand, and grow an engaged audience that turns into applications.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Own and grow OSS's Instagram and TikTok, from content calendar to daily posting and community management
  • Develop and test other platforms, such as YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn, to find where our audience engages most
  • Track follower growth, engagement, and reach, and adjust strategy based on what the data shows

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Content Creation

  • Appear on camera regularly, presenting and narrating content that puts a face to OSS
  • Produce and edit short-form video content using professional video editing software (e.g. CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and design static, carousel, and other visual assets using graphic design tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar platforms
  • Adapt the same story for each platform's format and audience, rather than posting one version everywhere
  • Ensure all content complies with copyright regulations, media usage rights, and consent requirements, particularly when capturing or publishing content featuring individuals during on-site events
  • Coordinate with photographers and videographers to plan content production, communicate creative briefs, and manage deliverables to ensure timely and high-quality execution

Trend and Growth Ownership

  • Stay on top of TikTok and Instagram trends, sounds, and formats, and translate them into content relevant to OSS and our students
  • Build a content pipeline that supports both audience growth and enrolment, working with the admissions and marketing team on messaging
  • Identify and manage relationships with UGC creators and influencers in the education and student travel space to promote our programmes

Other Responsibilities

  • Support the wider marketing team with content needs for campaigns, launches, and events

Required Skills and Experience

  • 1 to 2 years of experience running social media, with particular strength in Instagram and TikTok
  • Experience managing several social media platforms at the same time
  • Experience working on social media for other projects or brands, not only a single account
  • Comfortable and confident appearing on camera as the face of our content
  • A genuine love of photo and video editing, not just a working knowledge of it
  • Experience working with UGC creators and influencers, from outreach through to briefing and content approval
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Native English speaker, or C1 to C2 level of proficiency, with a strong instinct for what makes content shareable
  • Being based in the UK, or able to travel there during the summer intakes, is preferred, particularly if that trip is easy for you to make
  • A genuine passion for content creation and social media, ideally with an interest in education or student travel

If you love creating content, are glued to TikTok trends before they peak, and want to help ambitious students discover what studying at Oxford and Cambridge colleges feels like, we would love to hear from you
