Personal Assistant to the Executive Headteacher
Location: Forest Oak School and Merstone School
Salary: Band C, Points 8 (£27,709) –14 (£30,515) pro rata
Permanent Contract – term time only (39 weeks): 32.5 hours per week
Required from: As soon as possible
About the Role
We are seeking an organised, professional, and highly motivated Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to the Executive Headteacher across Forest Oak School and Merstone School.
This is a varied and important role involving:
- Diary and meeting management
- Preparation of agendas and minutes
- Drafting and proofreading correspondence
- Handling confidential information
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting the effective organisation of both schools
The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for the Executive Headteacher and will be expected to exercise sound judgement when managing, redirecting, or escalating enquiries.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has relevant administrative experience within a busy office environment
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Can manage competing priorities, deadlines, and changing circumstances
- Is confident taking accurate minutes and preparing high-quality documents
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Can communicate professionally and sensitively with pupils, families, colleagues, governors, and external agencies
- Uses initiative, exercises sound judgement, and remains calm under pressure
- Can handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Is confident using Microsoft Office and electronic systems

Previous experience of working as a PA to senior leaders or within a school environment would be desirable, alongside knowledge of school management, safeguarding, or admissions systems.
