Job Description

We are looking for an experienced PA to support the Head of Department and the Departmental Administrator in the Department of Psychology, based in historic central Cambridge. About the Department

The Department of Psychology is a large teaching and research Department in the School of Biological Sciences with approximately 30 Academics, 130 members of staff and 100 postgraduate students.

Role Overview

You will provide a comprehensive and proactive PA service to the Head of Department and the Departmental Administrator to support the efficient and effective management of their time and work. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing collaborative/administrative projects involving a range of university departments and external institutions.
  • Preparing for and attending meetings, recording the minutes and acting on administrative tasks.
  • Overseeing department visitor applications, organizing and managing events, seminars, and publicity.
  • Providing administrative assistance to departmental projects and welcoming guests.

Key Requirements

  • Proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Relevant PA/administrative experience.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
