Biscuit International UK is the leading specialist supplier of own-label gluten-free biscuits and cookies in the United Kingdom. Located in Gateshead, our production facility operates three lines, with an annual output exceeding 4,300 tonnes annually in plain, chocolate, and sandwich biscuit formats. We are part of Biscuit International, Europe’s leading private label biscuit and bread substitute manufacturer, with a rich heritage of over 400 years of expertise in delivering excellent taste at great value.
We’re seeking a Pack Team Lead to join our Production team in Gateshead and lead packing operations to deliver safe, high-quality products to our customers.
Reporting to the Shift Manager, this role is responsible for leading a team of packing colleagues, ensuring production plans are delivered on time, in full and to specification, while maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, food safety and efficiency.

- Lead and manage a packing team of 5–10 colleagues
- Plan and oversee packing operations to deliver OTIF and quality targets
- Act as first point of contact for absence, holidays and ER matters
- Ensure GMP, hygiene, allergen control and QA standards are fully adhered to
- Lead and support training and competency verification for packing roles
- Ensure changeovers and cleans are completed on time and pass allergen tests
- Maintain full compliance with traceability, line clearance and documentation
- Drive SQDC performance including rate, waste, giveaway and labour control
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure packaging, coding and labelling accuracy always
- Provide cover for Shift Manager when required
Skills & Experience
- Experience leading teams in a food manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of food safety, allergen control and GMP
- Confident people leader with strong communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver against production targets
- Good numeracy and IT skills
- Level 2 Food Safety essential
- Level 2 Health & Safety and Manual Handling desirable
- Leadership or team-building qualification desirable
