Project Overview
The Project is the expansion of an existing process facility located on a Nuclear site in Capenhurst, Cheshire (UK). The facility is being expanded in response to changing market dynamics and will provide a major component of UK’s nuclear energy security strategy.
The Project scope includes overseeing the delivery of FEED, co-ordinating design outputs to facilitate construction contract award and the implementation of enabling works. Subject to successful completion of FEED, there is the potential for a follow-on EPCM contract to be awarded for the main works contract.
At present the role will be based in Birchwood, Warrington but the position will move to Capenhurst from spring next year. The role will primarily be based at the project office however travel to the project site location (Capenhurst) will also be required. Flexibility in work location includes a minimum of three days per working from the project office.
Candidates will have or must be able to obtain an SC security clearance.

We are looking for a Works Package Co-ordinator who has experience of managing a design process through to implementation.

You should possess good stakeholder communication skills and be able to support the management of complex technical and practical issues.
You will be expected to demonstrate experience of supporting a collaborative working environment through positive and transparent behaviours.
Major Responsibilities
In addition to good communication and problem-solving skills, the role will involve reporting to the Project Manager in the management of the services.
The candidate will be required to demonstrate knowledge and experience of:
- Oversight of Engineering Master Document Deliverables List, including tracking document status.
- Facilitating collaboration between the Client and design consultants to ensure timely delivery of documents that meet quality standards, as well as effectively addressing any day-to-day issues that may occur.
- Coordinate across disciplines and with Engineering to provide timely and accurate information for the Construction team.
- Ensures the effective implementation of the Client's Engineering Management Plan, as well as adherence to all applicable operating procedures established by the design consultants.
- Detailed understanding of managing design requirements and managing design decisions
- Managing the effective transfer of information, for example Technical Queries
- Managing design consultant schedules and performance, including reporting progress
- The implementation and management of CDM regulations, roles, responsibilities and duties.
- Managing project commitments in accordance with the constraints and terms of the contract
- A responsible attitude towards safety and security
- Ability to motivate self and teams, deal with conflict and enhance a collaborative delivery culture
- Managing implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives
Education And Experience Requirements
Degree Qualifies in Engineering
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Nuclear or Energy sector experience would be of particular interest including design, construction and commissioning, but we are equally interested in the ability of candidates to apply broader experiences in a new environment.
- Evidence of CDM training, accountability and implementation
- Knowledge on subcontracts and interpretation of subcontract documents.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
