Package Manager

Location: Hayes, London
Sector: Data Centres & Mission Critical Construction
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Package

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Package Manager to join a leading specialist contractor delivering one of the UK's most significant hyperscale data centre developments in West London.

Based on a flagship project in Hayes, you'll take ownership of key construction packages from pre-start through to successful handover, working alongside an experienced project team on a technically challenging development comprising 18 data halls, high and medium voltage energy centres and extensive supporting infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to join a contractor with over 40 years of experience delivering complex projects across the data centre, defence and energy sectors. Their reputation has been built on tackling technically demanding schemes where quality, planning and collaboration are paramount, making this an excellent role for someone looking to further their career within the mission-critical sector.

Role Overview

As Package Manager, you'll become the driving force behind the successful delivery of your allocated package, ensuring it is completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the exceptionally high standards expected on a hyperscale data centre project.

  • You'll be responsible for bringing together the engineering, commercial, procurement and construction teams, ensuring everyone is working towards the same objectives and that every stage of the package is planned before work begins on site.
  • From reviewing design information and procurement schedules to identifying constraints and driving solutions, you'll play a key role in keeping the project moving forward.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Design Managers and specialist subcontractors, you'll monitor progress, manage risk and ensure all package activities remain aligned with the overall programme.
  • You'll also take ownership of quality, carrying out inspections, managing non-conformances where required and driving a right-first-time culture across your package.
  • This is a highly visible role where you'll build strong relationships with both internal teams and the supply chain, ensuring issues are resolved quickly while maintaining excellent commercial and operational performance throughout delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

You'll already have experience managing construction packages on major building projects, whether that's within data centres, industrial developments, commercial projects or other technically challenging environments. You'll enjoy taking ownership, coordinating multiple disciplines and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently from start to finish.

  • You understand how engineering, procurement and construction all fit together, and you're confident making decisions that positively influence programme, quality and commercial performance.
  • You're organised, proactive and capable of building strong working relationships with subcontractors, consultants and project teams alike.
  • We're looking for someone who can think ahead, identify potential issues before they become problems and maintain high standards throughout the construction process.
  • Previous experience working under NEC contracts or on mission-critical projects would certainly be advantageous, although candidates from other complex construction sectors are encouraged to apply.
  • Ideally, you'll hold an HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline, alongside a CSCS Black Card and SMSTS certification. Membership of CIOB, ICE, APM or another relevant professional body would also be welcomed.
