The SZC Prefabrication Deputy Package Manager will be responsible for the prefabrication of offshore prefabricated concrete structures (named as Ramps) that will be constructed as part of the offshore works at Sizewell C project, Marine and Tunnel portion. These heavy civil works structures, weighing over 1,000 Tonnes each, will be prefabricated prior their shipment to the Sizewell C site. The successful candidate will play a vital role in both the pre-construction and construction phases, ensuring seamless execution, quality control, and successful project delivery.

The Ramps scope of works includes:

• The design, procurement & supply, construction & removal of the prefabrication facilities (including temporary works, equipment and plant).
• Project Management of the prefabricated elements of Ramps (offshore structures) to be built at Avonmouth hub, in Bristol. This will cover the management of self-delivery activities as well as the subcontractors at the hub.

The role requires a high level of interfacing between internal departments, multiple subcontractors, and suppliers.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions

The SZC Prefabrication Deputy Package Manager will be responsible for:

• Lead and manage the assigned package, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines. This management is coordinated with the Fabrication Project Manager of the hub.
• Collaborate with direct reports and subcontractors to ensure efficient execution of project tasks.
• Reviewing interfaces with adjacent activities and ensuring that they are properly coordinated and communicated to the Preconstruction Leads and Avonmouth project management team.
• Organising and leading regular site progress meetings with all involved parties to monitor progress, quality, and safety, ensuring the Fabrication Project Manager and Avonmouth Project Manager are updated on all issues.
• Working with the commercial team and wider team to review the packages tender information and subcontracts and comment where appropriate.
• Working with the procurement team to supply the required equipment and materials.
• Participating in the daily activity briefing and weekly sub-contractor coordination meetings to ensure that areas under their responsibility are kept on programme and budget.
• Providing specialist advice on the prefabrication packages of Heads and Ramps, and on the technical choices of the production equipment.
• Promoting the setting up and the methodologies used in the automated industries.
• Ensuring that the equipment purchased, installed, and commissioned comply with the BS and EN standards.
• Reviewing all relevant drawings relating to the scope of works and assessing/advising on buildability and product selection.
• Producing, reviewing, and approving (as and when authorised) Inspection & Test Plans (I&TP).
• Monitoring the implementation of the I&TPs. Preparing Material Approval Requests (MAR's) for all products to be used during the execution of works and submit for approval.
• Ensuring that the Ramps supply chain maintains the on-going compliance of all products and related approvals.
• Ensuring quality construction standards and suitable construction techniques are adopted and maintained in order to provide a defect-free end product.
• Ensuring that method, sequence, and resource required to deliver the activities are thoroughly planned, programmed, and delivered, monitoring progress against the weekly programmes on a daily basis.
• Working with the cost control team to report the progress and to inform on cost changes.
• Ensuring the safe execution of the works at all times.
• Fulfilling Health & Safety responsibilities within the precast yard and Subcontractors appointed for the execution of civil works of the Ramps.
• Complying with all Company's Policies and Procedures.
• Undertaking other such reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
