Why this role matters

The Package Procurement Lead is responsible for developing and executing procurement and contracting strategies, for the relevant category package within a project. This role requires expertise in pre bid / development activities, contract development, negotiation, supplier engagement and post award contract management. The Package Procurement Lead will work in close collaboration with the Package Manager to ensure competitive, compliant and value driven contracting outcomes.

In this role you will:

  • Lead engagement with the supply chain to assess market capabilities, risks and opportunities.
  • Support pre-bid activities by developing procurement plans, cost models and risk assessments aligned with project timelines.
  • Collaborate with Category and Project teams to define technical and commercial requirements for the package.
  • Prepare and lead RFIs and RFQ / RFPs
  • Draft and negotiate contracts for the package, ensuring alignment with project specifications, timelines and governance standards.
  • Apply FIDIC or other relevant contract principles and best practices to manage risk allocation and compliance
  • Draft and negotiate Preferred Supplier Agreements to secure strategic partnerships and long-term value for the business
  • Develop and implement project contracting strategies and effectively support the Package Manager in delivery of the contracted workscope
  • Drive innovation and cost optimisation in third party spend while ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal governance, external regulations and local requirements.
  • Contribute to cost and claims avoidance strategies
  • Support LCOE (Levelised Cost of Energy) optimisation initiatives.

To be successful in the role you will bring:

  • Proven experience in procurement and contracting within Offshore Wind or large scale energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC & BIMCO contract principles and application in complex projects
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating contacts for the relevant category package
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead pre bid activities and develop strategic procurement plans
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen with focus on risk management and value
