Packaging Artwork Coordinator
Liverpool
The Packaging Co-Ordinator is responsible for coordinating the approval of all packaging artwork, including new product launches, packaging redesigns, and graphic or copy changes across the Foods, Oils, Fish, Italian, and Drinks categories. The role ensures packaging projects are compliant, accurate, and on time, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and external agencies.
Dimensions
Managing artwork and reprographic approvals for over 1,000 branded and own-brand products, supporting the delivery of more than 2,000 approval cycles per annum.
Principal Responsibilities
- Day to day project co-ordination of packaging launches, re-designs and minor amends, helping to create and issue critical paths to track launch progress.
- Collaborating with Packaging Development to ensure new packaging formats are introduced successfully, with structural and graphic elements aligned to project deadlines.
- Initiate and assist with control of the information flow between all internal key stakeholders, retailers, printers, reprographic and artwork houses to ensure that all projects are maintained on schedule and to budget. To proactively identify and escalate potential delays or risks to the line manager and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring that all new or updated packaging components will be available for the time of the launch or changeover date.
- Responsible for setting up and controlling the digital asset management online artwork approval processes, to be used to control the approval of all artwork assets.
- To interact with retail customer’s digital asset management systems to submit and manage artwork, ensuring customer guidelines and procedures are followed.
- Conducts packaging audits at internal, third-party, and key customer locations, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting their resolution. Provides regular progress updates and reports to stakeholders.
- To Provide project updates, agree actions with stakeholders, and communicate progress to the wider business through internal and external meetings.
- Tracks and reports all APC spend, providing regular updates to Marketing Managers as required.
- To co-ordinate and where required attend pre-artwork meetings with retail customers, artwork agencies, reprographic suppliers, and printers to support the project delivery.
- Responsible for final artwork approval for all new packaging items, undertaking business and customer approval on first print runs in person as required. To check printed packaging quality and instruct remedial action if necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive digital asset library of all artwork assets, for all branded and customer own label products.
- Maintain and update a complete library of approved print reference samples for all relevant products, ensuring alignment with the live SKU list and enabling effective print quality control.
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of the Brandbank image library, ensuring all product images and associated data are correctly matched, and up to date.

Role Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Experience
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of artwork development, print production, and reprographics.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects on time and within budget, while effectively managing multiple priorities and performing under tight deadlines and changing business demands.
- Experience of using a Digital Asset Management system.
- Experience in negotiating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to positively influence outcomes and make valuable contributions within cross-functional project meetings.
- A working knowledge of packaging materials.
- Proficient in SAP, with experience in raising purchase orders, processing goods receipts, interrogating master data, and maintaining accurate system records.
- Good interpersonal skills required for building strong business relationships with our retail customers.
