Job Title: Packaging Operator (12hr shifts rotating days and nights)

£31462 per annum

Department: Packaging

Reports to: Packaging Supervisor

Overall Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the quality of the bagging and packaging for the end product meets customer specifications whilst meeting production targets. To protect the brand, maintain trust and deliver our legal obligation by ensuring customers food is sourced and manufactured to the food integrity requirements of each customer.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Operate the Ishida multi heads, bagging machines and packaging lines in the pack hall
  • Complete quality assurance checks and paperwork as required
  • Record checks in QA Upstream
  • Complete MCS data as required
  • Ensure the metal detector accurately checks for metal in packaging, and that average weights and date labels are precise
  • Conduct asset care for the bagging machine and maintains the cleanliness of own working area
  • Support customer audits as required
  • Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift
  • Ensure own work is compliant with relevant health and safety, environmental and GMP practice
  • BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) – responsible for your own safety and for those around you
  • Carry out sanitation duties as required, including shutdown
  • Remain at your workstation until relieved at shift handover
  • Carry out “on the job” guidance, training, support for colleagues as required
  • Report and escalate any issues to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
  • Any other reasonable task as requested by your supervisor/manager

Qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent).
  • Lamb Weston chemical training, H+S, GMP
  • CCP

Experience

  • 2-3 years’ manufacturing experience.
  • SAP/SCADA experience.
