Role: Packaging Operator Grade 6

Role Type: 3-Month Initial Contract – Further Contract/Development Opportunities

Location: Macclesfield

Shift Pattern: Variable - Most likely 7-Day Working Pattern (Meaning, 21 Day overall rota, with on/off periods, rotating). Combination of Earlies & Lates.

We discover, develop, manufacture and market prescription medicines.


Your New Role

You will ensure correct batch components are received from the warehouse to ensure smooth running of the line. You will be responsible for clearing the line from the last order, checking all components/batch documentation, setting up the line, starting up and running the line to ensure smooth running and production schedules are met. You will also close down packing orders.

Working effectively as a member of the team in order to ensure that effective communication channels and efficient working practices are maintained within the working period/team, you will also participate as a team member in improvement work and projects to ensure fitness for purpose and line improvement. You will provide performance data on a daily basis and work with the team to analyse the data to improve performance.


Essential Skills

  • Ability to work within an Aseptic Processing Area (Sterile manufacturing)
  • Operational knowledge of procedures and compliance with GMP & SHE requirements e.g. COSHH, risk and manual handling assessment
  • Operational knowledge of line equipment
  • Numeracy & literacy skills
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Manual role with ability to operate machinery and lift and transport equipment, products and tools
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing operational requirements
  • Ability to undertake core tasks independently
