🔬 SRG is looking for a Laboratory Packaging Technologist
📍 Menstrie, Scotland | ⏳ 5-Month Assignment | 🧪 Lab-Based
🌍 THE OPPORTUNITY
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading global consumer goods organisation for a Laboratory Packaging Technologist to join its Global Science & Technology function, working in a dedicated Packaging Technology Laboratory. You'll play a key role in implementing and validating ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) testing methodologies, making sure packaging solutions meet global safety and performance standards.
🛠️ WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Implement and validate ISTA testing procedures
- Complete ISTA accreditation/training (details to be confirmed)
- Operate and maintain transit simulation equipment, including the incline impact tester, vibration table and drop tester
- Deploy and analyse shock logger data
- Support the installation and validation of testing equipment
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Carry out packaging component testing and statistical analysis
- Support laboratory compliance, health & safety and quality initiatives
- Manage testing and validation projects through to completion
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders

✅ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Experience in the production and testing of food and drink packaging materials
- Knowledge of packaging test methodologies and laboratory environments
- Hands-on experience operating transit simulation equipment
- Data analysis and reporting experience
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering or a Scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience

Desirable:
- Experience testing novel or emerging packaging materials
- HACCP knowledge
- Lead ISO 9001 Auditor qualification/experience
- Active network within the material science industry
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE)
- ISTA knowledge or experience
