Role Title: Packer / Stand In Checkweigh Inspector

Salary: £25,108.20

Working Hours: Days on a Traffic light system.

  • Monday to Thursday 8am to 17:15 in green period
  • Monday to Thursday 8am-17:15pm and Friday 7am till 13:00pm in yellow period
  • Monday -Thursday 7:45am - 17:15pm and Friday 7am-15:00 in red period

Location: Canal Street, South Wigston, LE18 4PQ

What will this role achieve?

We are looking for a Packer / Stand In Checkweigh Inspector to join our Assortments department working day shift. Your main role is to work as part of the team packing biscuits and completing quality checks.

You will be required to stand in as a Checkweigh Inspector as and when required.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • You will need to work effectively with other team members in the department as well as the Data Contact on your line and also Advanced Team Members.
  • You will pack biscuits on a production line.
  • You may need to work in the Co-Pack area when required.
  • You will be working on different lines with the department.
  • Manually pack products within specifications (includes bending, lifting, stretching)
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify any foreign matters or potential hazards.
  • Ensure quality of biscuits being packed is within product specifications
  • Ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards.
  • Work to a high standard, enabling plants to achieve planned output.
  • Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.

When standing in as a Checkweigh Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance. Your duties will include:

  • Inspecting products as they pass through the production line
  • Replacing or adding any missing biscuits
  • Manually weighing products to verify accuracy
  • Completing all required documentation and paperwork

Bring your experience

Essential

  • Have an understanding of good manufacturing practices and safety at work procedures.
  • Can work well with others and be open to learning and change.

We’re looking for people who can work flexibly and adapt to change. You’ll get support to help you succeed.

Desirable

  • Checkweigh & Inspection experience on a production line is desirable, however, all training will be required.

What does the recruitment process consist of?

  • Assessments – Error Checking and a Workplace English assessment. These should take around 45 minutes to complete.
  • Interview – 30-45 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience.

If you’re an internal member of staff, depending on your current job role, you may not be required to complete all of the assessments.
