About The Role
A Packing Operative position is available in Highbridge, paying £12.71 per hour. This full-time, temporary contract runs Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 5:00pm, with the possibility of extension. You will join a manufacturing setting, receiving full training to handle varied duties.
Responsibilities include:
- Loading and inspecting items on the line
- Lifting materials up to 15kg
- Checking quality standards
- Weighing ingredients precisely

Pertemps are currently recruiting for Food Production Operatives to join a busy manufacturing environment in Highbridge.
This is a hands-on role working across different areas of the production process. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates who are reliable, hardworking, and keen to learn.

The role, depending on the area you are working in, your duties may include:
- Loading and inspecting products on a production line
- Handling raw materials and ingredients, including lifting items up to 15kg
- Checking products for quality and removing any foreign materials
- Weighing ingredients accurately in line with production requirements
- Assisting with the preparation and cooking process
- Inspecting labels and best-before dates
- Packing finished products into trays and boxes
- Operating or assisting with packing and wrapping machinery
- Building and stacking pallets
- Folding and assembling packaging
- Applying labels, stickers, and tamper-evident seals
- Hand-tying tags and labels
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
- Following strict food hygiene and health & safety procedures

- Be physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Have good attention to detail
- Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Have a proactive attitude and use common sense
- Be comfortable working in a warm manufacturing environment
- Be happy carrying out repetitive tasks
- Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Understand the importance of food hygiene
- Be willing to learn and work across different areas of production

Previous food manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

As this is a food production environment, high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness are essential. Candidates must be prepared to follow strict site procedures relating to food safety and hygiene.
Due to the nature of the environment, nuts and nut-based products are not permitted on site.
