Join Our Packing Team – Machine-Made Products (Evening/Night Shift)

Hours

  • 17:15 until 03:30 (approx. depending on production needs), 4 days out of 5 (Monday to Friday, with one rotational day off per week)

Breaks

  • 2 x 30 minutes per shift

Pay

  • £13.21 per hour standard rate
  • Enhanced rate of £16.51 per hour for hours worked between 20:00–06:00, or hours worked over 37.5 hours per week.
  • Earn more as you learn: This role offers competency-based pay progression. As you complete training, gain experience, and are signed off on additional skills and responsibilities, your earning potential increases.

What You’ll Do

As a Packing Production Operative within our Machine-Made Products Team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our delicious pastries are packed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to remain on your feet for most of the shift.

Your Training Journey

During your first few weeks, you’ll learn the entry-level packing tasks. As your confidence and skills grow, you’ll progress onto more complex packing operations, with ongoing training and sign-off at each stage. The more you learn and the more skills you’re signed off on, the more you can earn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Checking finished products for quality, ensuring correct size, shape, and compliance with product specifications
  • Packing finished products into boxes accurately and efficiently in line with product specifications
  • Operating and loading packing conveyor belts and preparing products for dispatch
  • Assembling boxes and maintaining packing equipment to keep operations running smoothly
  • Palletising and wrapping completed boxes ready for shipment
  • Supporting other departments when required, giving you the opportunity to gain broader experience across the business

Full training is provided.

After Successfully Completing Your Probation Period, You Will Gain

  • Food Safety Level 2 certificate
  • Health & Safety Level 2 certificate
