Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

At KLA, we design, develop and manufacture high-tech capital equipment for the global semiconductor industry. We are seeking a proactive and thorough Packing Technician to join our Packing and Logistics team!

Based at our innovative manufacturing facility in Newport, South Wales, this role is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing spares, service parts, and ship kits are packed, documented, and dispatched efficiently to support customer demand and achieve quarterly revenue objectives. Working closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Stores, Quality and Customer Operations teams, the Packing Technician will play a key role in maintaining shipment schedules, driving on-time delivery performance and supporting operational excellence and safety across the business!

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Packing, preparing and shipping manufacturing products, spare parts, ship kits, upgrades and short-shipment requirements in line with customer and business priorities.
  • Ensuring all packing and shipping activities are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with quality standards and established procedures.
  • Collaborating closely with Manufacturing teams to monitor tool completion status and ensure products are available and ready for shipment according to planned schedules.
  • Working with the SPTS Stores team to verify all kit components are received, complete and aligned to Bills of Material (BOMs) before shipment.
  • Creating, reviewing and maintaining accurate shipping documentation to meet internal and customer requirements.
  • Coordinating with the on-site shipping contractor to ensure timely booking, handover and dispatch of shipments.
  • Support inventory accuracy, packing material management, and housekeeping standards within the packing and logistics area.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues that could impact shipment schedules, customer deliveries or quarterly revenue targets.
  • Collaborating with Manufacturing, Planning, Supply Chain and Quality teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure efficient execution of shipping priorities.

  • Previous experience within a packing, logistics, shipping, stores or manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in packing, documentation and shipping activities.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the focus on meeting customer commitments and business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a wider team.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and operational excellence.

Working Hours

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern:

  • Week 1: 6:00am to 2:00pm
  • Week 2: 2:00pm to 10:00pm

A shift premium payment applies for all applicable shifts worked.
