RJS Resourcing is looking for a Registered Children’s Nurse who would like to take their clinical skills beyond the traditional hospital setting.

This community-based role involves visiting children and adults in their homes, schools, or workplaces to provide planned treatments, clinical monitoring, and practical education. You will manage your own daily visits while remaining supported by an experienced clinical and scheduling team.

Patients receive treatment for a wide variety of conditions, including those relating to oncology, neurology, immunology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and rare diseases.

Your working day will involve travelling between patients and delivering individualized clinical care. Depending on each patient’s treatment plan, this may include:
- Administering intravenous, subcutaneous, and biologic treatments
- Taking blood samples and completing clinical observations
- Providing cannulation and line care
- Carrying out patient assessments and reporting any concerns
- Helping patients, parents, and carers understand their treatment
- Teaching safe self-administration techniques
- Supporting patients to become more confident and independent
- Completing telephone and video consultations where appropriate
- Liaising with hospitals, healthcare professionals, and internal clinical teams
- Maintaining clear and accurate electronic records
The position offers greater continuity and more meaningful one-to-one contact than is often possible within a busy hospital environment.
Requirements
- Current NMC registration as a Children’s Nurse
- A full UK driving licence
- The confidence to work independently in patients’ homes
- Flexibility to travel across Greater London
- Strong communication and patient-education skills
- Basic IT skills and the ability to maintain electronic clinical records

Previous experience in community care, complex care, homecare nursing, cannulation, venepuncture, IV therapy, or accessing ports would be advantageous but is not essential.
Applicants with three or more years of post-registration experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
Important travel information
This is a mobile nursing position involving regular and sometimes extensive travel throughout London.
There is no fixed local patch or guaranteed travel radius, as appointments are arranged according to patient need. You must therefore be comfortable driving to any area of London, with some journeys between visits potentially exceeding two hours.
