Job Opportunity for a Paediatric Nurse
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Paediatric Nurse to join the London North West Hospital’s NHS Trust Paediatric Diabetes Team. The post holder will primarily provide a service for the Paediatric Diabetes Patients in Ealing, Brent and Harrow and cross-site working will be required.
About the Role
The post requires an enthusiastic paediatric nurse with experience working with children with diabetes, to deliver a nursing service as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be required to provide evidence-based care and advice for children with Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes, newly diagnosed education, insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care and advice for children with Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes
- Offer education for newly diagnosed children
- Administer insulin pump therapy
- Monitor continuous glucose levels
Cross-Site Working
Please note this job role includes cross-site working across Ealing and Northwick Park Hospitals and their community settings.
Collaboration and Supervision
The post holder will work closely with other members of the London North West Hospital’s NHS Trust Paediatric Diabetes Team based in Ealing and Northwick Park Hospital. Clinical supervision and training opportunities and CPPD will be provided from Diabetes Team and the Trust.

Student Supervision
We are a well-established student trainer providing placements and the post will involve supervision of students in the clinical area.

Managing a Caseload
The post holder will be required to manage a caseload of children and young people with diabetes from diagnosis to transition to adult services. Training and supervision will be provided within the role.
Collaborative Work
The post holder will be required to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team and with school and other agencies to support child and family to safely manage diabetes in community settings.
