An Exciting Opportunity in Paediatric Diabetes Service at UHDB
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Paediatric Diabetes service at UHDB for a permanent Band 6 Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
Role Overview
We are looking for you to be part of the Paediatric Diabetes Service at UHDB, maintaining and developing a quality service at Royal Derby Hospital whilst supporting a cross-site provision with Queens Hospital Burton.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist training across acute and community settings.
- Ensure the delivery of agreed professional standards of care within diabetes across the Trust and out in the community.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the assessment, management and evaluation of treatment and care for a caseload of children & young people aged 0-19 years with diabetes.
- Co-ordinate and implement evidence-based care for the caseload of patients and lead Nurse-led clinics as part of an overarching treatment plan with the Multidisciplinary Team.
- Be a highly visible and accessible resource within the clinical setting at UHDB.
- Be an active member of the clinical multidisciplinary team and deliver a safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led service where compassion is embedded and a positive patient experience is achieved.
- Act as a professional role model.
- Work across organisational and professional boundaries, including working collaboratively with health care professionals in the community.
- Act as an expert resource in Paediatric Diabetes with extensive specialist knowledge and clinical expertise to be an effective educator for health care professionals.
