Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Norfolk

Band 5 | Band 6 | Band 7

£39,959 – £56,515 pro rata, depending on experience

Full-time | 4 days in schools + 1 day remote

Held Health is growing its Paediatric Occupational Therapy team across Norfolk, and we are looking for enthusiastic OTs at Band 5, Band 6 and Band 7 level to join us.

We have 2 Band 5, 8 Band 6 and 3 Band 7 positions available.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly within school settings, supporting children and young people with SEND and neurodiversity, while helping teachers and schools develop their confidence and skills.

About the role

You will provide Universal and Targeted Occupational Therapy support across schools, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, families and our wider multidisciplinary team. Your role will include:

  • Functional assessment of children within their school environment.
  • Supporting children with sensory and interoceptive processing, motor coordination, self-care, regulation, attention and participation.
  • Identifying barriers to children's independence and access to everyday school activities.
  • Providing practical strategies and recommendations to teachers and SENCOs.
  • Supporting and training teachers to embed OT strategies into everyday classroom practice.
  • Delivering targeted interventions, groups and workshops.
  • Completing environmental and classroom audits and recommending reasonable adjustments.
  • Producing high-quality reports and clear, practical recommendations.

Report writing is a priority

We are particularly looking for OTs who are excellent report writers. You will need to communicate your clinical reasoning clearly and produce high-quality reports that provide practical, meaningful recommendations for children, families and education staff.

Autism assessment opportunities

There are also opportunities to develop your experience in Autism and neurodevelopmental assessment as part of our wider service. ADOS-2 experience is desirable but not essential — training will be provided.

About you

You will have:

  • A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Paediatric OT experience and strong clinical knowledge.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND and/or neurodevelopmental needs.
  • Knowledge of sensory/interoceptive processing and its impact on everyday participation.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
  • The ability to manage your own caseload and travel between school settings across Norfolk.

Experience within education, mainstream schools, Local Authority services, Autism or neurodevelopmental assessment would be desirable.
