Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist – Education & Therapy Services

Location: Hampshire

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part-Time / Full-Time (39 weeks per year)

Salary: £39,862 - £47,181 per annum (FTE) | Equivalent to NHS Band 6 (Pro Rata for 39 weeks)

Our client, a highly successful and award-winning Specialist Multi Academy Trust, is seeking an experienced Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team in Hampshire. This exciting opportunity involves supporting children and young people aged 4-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across a number of specialist education settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Develop and deliver specialist, outcome-focused therapy programmes that support pupils' functional independence and wellbeing.
  • Establish and enhance occupational therapy provision across the Trust's educational settings.
  • Embed therapeutic strategies within the curriculum and wider school environment.
  • Deliver training and professional development programmes to staff members.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to the continued development of therapy services.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
  • Experience working with children and young people with ASC and/or SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based, functional, and outcome-focused practice.
  • Experience delivering training and working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
