Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Specialist Education

Liverpool

Full-time

We are looking for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a specialist education setting supporting pupils with additional and complex needs.

This role will focus on delivering Occupational Therapy provision in line with pupils’ EHCPs, helping children build functional independence, access learning and achieve positive outcomes.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, physical developmental delay, epilepsy and wider learning needs.

The role will involve:

  • Delivering Occupational Therapy provision in line with EHCP requirements
  • Completing assessments and developing intervention plans
  • Supporting pupils’ independence, participation and access to learning
  • Implementing, monitoring and reviewing therapy programmes
  • Working closely with education, therapy, care and family teams
  • Providing staff training and guidance
  • Recommending specialist equipment and resources
  • Supporting postural management, seating, positioning and equipment needs
  • Maintaining accurate records and professional documentation

We are looking for someone with:

  • Paediatric Occupational Therapy experience
  • Experience supporting children with additional or complex needs
  • Strong understanding of EHCP-led provision
  • Ability to assess, plan and review therapy interventions
  • Knowledge of sensory, functional, play-based and independence-focused approaches
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills
  • Good record keeping and professional standards
  • Commitment to child-centred, inclusive and high-quality practice
