Are you passionate about delivering compassionate care to children and young people?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Paediatric Phlebotomist to join our dedicated Paediatric team. This exciting role will involve leading and coordinating our Paediatric Phlebotomy Clinic, providing high-quality venepuncture services to infants, children and young people in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

You will work closely with nurses, play specialists and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure blood sampling procedures are carried out safely, effectively and with minimal distress. The role requires excellent communication skills, confidence working autonomously, and the ability to support children with anxiety, neurodiversity and complex needs.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised venepuncture qualification and have experience working with children and young people. In return, we offer a supportive team environment, opportunities for professional development and the chance to make a real difference to the experiences of children and families using our services.

If you are caring, motivated and committed to delivering outstanding patient-centred care, we would love to hear from you.

Main Duties of the Job

As the Paediatric Phlebotomist, you will provide a safe, compassionate and child-centred phlebotomy service for infants, children and young people attending South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. You will be responsible for coordinating and running the Paediatric Phlebotomy Clinic, undertaking venous and capillary blood sampling, and ensuring specimens are appropriately documented and processed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
