We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Children's Therapy Team.
This rewarding role involves working under the guidance and supervision of qualified therapists to support the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy interventions for children and young people with a wide range of additional and complex needs. There will also be opportunities to work independently, using initiative and clinical judgement within agreed competencies and care plans.
The post holder will provide therapeutic support across a variety of settings, including health centres, nurseries, special schools, and children's homes. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will implement child-centred, evidence-based therapy programmes designed to maximise each child's functional abilities, independence, participation, and overall quality of life.
You will manage your own caseload of children with diverse and complex needs, monitoring progress and adapting interventions as appropriate under the direction of registered therapists. The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, a commitment to delivering person-centred care, and a willingness to undertake ongoing training and supervision to develop knowledge, skills, and professional practice.

Main Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group physiotherapy programmes under the guidance of a qualified Physiotherapist.
- Implement child-centred, evidence-based therapy plans to support children with a range of complex physical needs.
- Manage a delegated caseload, prioritising workload and monitoring progress in line with therapy goals.
- Visit homes, nurseries and schools to support postural management, moving and handling, and equipment provision.
- Adjust therapeutic equipment and provide advice and training to parents, carers and education staff on its safe use.
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with children, families and professionals, providing support and guidance where required.
- Maintain accurate electronic clinical records and contribute to reports, assessments and referrals.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and attend meetings to support coordinated care planning.
- Support the delivery and development of specialist clinics, service improvement projects and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision and professional development to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
Ideal Candidate
Essential
- GCSE English Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Car owner/driver/access to a motor vehicle (role will involve travel to other sites that cannot be easily accessed by public transport means)
- Ability to use Microsoft office applications and e-mail
- Evidence of Personal Development
- Evidence of desire to or experience in working with children
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to problem solve
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to learn
- To be flexible in approach and be responsive to changing demands
- Able to prioritise/time manage
- Ability to generate ideas and develop these

Desirable
- Previous experience in working with children and families
- Evidence of specific knowledge relating to client group/ profession
- Previous experience in training/coaching/teaching others
