About us
Avalon Cleaning Systems is a fast-growing commercial cleaning company providing cleaning services to clients across London and the UK, including high-security sites. After five years of strong growth, we're building out our office team and looking for a motivated intern to join us.
The role
This is a hands-on, paid internship where you'll gain real HR and office experience in a busy, growing business. You'll work directly with our operations lead, who will train and mentor you throughout.
Location: Avalon Cleaning Systems, Unit 2, Harmill Industrial Estate, Grovebury Road, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4FF (office-based)
Pay: National Minimum Wage (rate depends on age)
Hours: 3 days a week
Contract: 3-month Fixed Term, with potential to extend or go permanent

What you'll do
- Support onboarding for new starters: starter forms, contracts and document collection
- Help with employee vetting and background check paperwork
- Keep staff records and files organised and up to date
- Help digitise paper records
- Handle general office admin: filing, data entry and post
- Help plan Staff Events, including our Christmas Party
- Help run our company Social Media page
What we're looking for
- Organised, reliable and detail-focused
- Confident using email, Word and Excel
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Able to handle confidential information responsibly
- An interest in HR, business or office management
- No previous experience needed; full training provided
