Role: Paid Social Business Director
The Role
The Paid Social Business Director role sits within the Paid Social leadership team at MG OMD and is responsible for the overall delivery, performance and development of paid social activity across a defined portfolio of clients. Reporting into the Head of Paid Social, the role provides senior leadership across accounts, clients and teams, ensuring paid social delivers against client objectives, commercial targets and agency standards.
This is a senior, client facing and people led role. The Business Director is accountable for setting direction, maintaining quality of output, overseeing governance and audit performance, and developing high performing teams. The role manages Account Directors and, through them, the wider paid social team.
The Work
- Set the strategic direction for paid social across assigned clients, in line with client goals and agency priorities
- Oversee the delivery of best in class paid social planning, activation and optimisation
- Ensure paid social strategies are integrated effectively with wider paid media activity
- Drive innovation, testing and the adoption of new platforms, products and ways of working
- Provide senior paid social input into pitches, planning responses and agency initiatives
Communication & Collaboration
- Act as a senior paid social lead for key clients, building strong, trusted partnerships
- Support Account Directors in managing senior client relationships and expectations
- Work closely with the Head of Paid Social and other channel leads to deliver integrated solutions
- Collaborate with specialist teams, platform partners and OMG stakeholders
- Communicate clearly and confidently at all levels, internally and externally

Commerciality, Accountability & Operations
- Own the commercial performance of paid social across assigned clients, ensuring delivery against targets
- Set, monitor and deliver paid social audit targets, ensuring consistent compliance and governance
- Oversee forecasting, budget management and revenue delivery across teams
- Ensure best practice processes, QA and operational standards are consistently followed
- Proactively identify and escalate risks, issues or opportunities impacting performance or delivery
Client & Partner Relationships
- Build and maintain senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
- Ensure clients are informed of market developments, platform changes and opportunities
- Champion paid social solutions that drive growth and long-term client value
- Lead relationships with key social platform partners and media owners
- Represent paid social confidently in senior client forums and industry conversations

Team Management & Leadership
- Lead, manage and develop Account Directors and the wider paid social team
- Set clear expectations around performance, quality and ways of working
- Coach, mentor and support senior team members in their progression and leadership development
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Take overall responsibility for team structure, capability and succession planning
