Paint Development Technician desired for a bespoke company in vehicle restoration based near Daventry, paying £30 per hour Umbrella PAYE.

Are you a Paint perfectionist with a passion for automotive finishes? We're looking for a skilled Paint Development Technician to join our team and provide expert support across a variety of departments. If you thrive on precision, creativity, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment – this could be your perfect next move.

About The Role

You will play a key role in creating, matching, and refining automotive paint colours across a variety of finishes and materials – including advanced visual carbon fibre. You'll support multiple departments by developing bespoke colour solutions, solving complex colour challenges, and ensuring the highest standards in finish quality. This is a hands-on, technical position ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a passion for colour accuracy, and experience working with industry-leading paint systems and software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Paint development across departments, including matching, adjusting, and developing new shades in solvent and water-based systems.
  • Work with visual carbon fibre tints and finish samples in a wide range of gloss levels.
  • Solve colour issues independently on-site, ensuring accuracy before sign-off and refining where needed.
  • Develop solid, 2-stage, 3-stage, and Argentum colours to meet urgent or bespoke client demands.
  • Maintain accurate records of all colour processes and input data into systems.
  • Use and maintain colour-matching software and ensure tools are properly calibrated.
  • Provide colour insights and support to internal teams, keeping in line with global guidelines.
  • Lead investigations into colour issues, report findings, and compare competitor standards.
  • Produce weekly reports and drive continuous improvement across the department.
  • Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
