A fast-growing manufacturing company based in Witham are looking for a Paint Prepper to join their expanding team.
For the role, we are looking for people who have had Paint Prepper experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within aerospace, motorsport, automotive or another high-end engineering environment.
The role is working on a night shift, Monday to Thursday, 4.30pm to 4.30am.
The hourly rate is up to £21.60ph (including a 20% shift allowance) depending on your skills and experience.
Paint Prepper Duties
- Preparing automotive components and parts ready for painting
- Cleaning, degreasing and preparing surfaces to ensure they are free from contaminants
- Masking and protecting areas of components that are not to be painted
- Sanding, filling and rubbing down surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish
- Removing imperfections and ensuring components are prepared to the required cosmetic standard
- Working with different materials and component shapes
- Inspecting components before painting to ensure the surface is correctly prepared
- Following technical drawings, specifications and work instructions where required
- Maintaining a clean and organised preparation area
- Working closely with the Paint and Finishing teams to ensure components meet the required standards
- Identifying any defects or issues with components and reporting these where necessary
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures

Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Paint Prepper, Paint Preparation Technician or similar
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ideally experience within automotive, motor sport, aerospace or another high-end manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
- Experience with sanding, masking, filling and surface preparation
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A reliable and hardworking attitude
