About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Paint Sprayer to join our Manufacturing Operations team at Gaydon. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most desirable vehicles in the world, applying your expertise to achieve exceptional quality standards within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
As a Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation and application of paint finishes to vehicle bodies and components.
- Ensuring every vehicle meets Aston Martin's exacting quality standards.
- Inspecting vehicles prior to painting, identifying any body defects.
- Carrying out all necessary preparation activities, including applying adhesion promoters, degreasing, and tacking off surfaces.
- Using hand spray techniques to apply base coats and clear coats.
- Removing contaminants between coats.
- Maintaining spray equipment and work areas.
- Ensuring all processes are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Aston Martin manufacturing standards.
Collaboration
Working closely with:
- Group Leaders
- Lead Technicians
- Quality teams
- Fellow technicians
Help maintain productivity and quality targets while supporting continuous improvement across the paint process. Opportunities to support other areas of the paint operation, such as vehicle preparation and polishing, may also be available, depending on business requirements.

Requirements
Experience:
- Previous experience in automotive paint spraying, refinishing, or vehicle body and paint operations.
- Strong understanding of paint application techniques, surface preparation methods, paint correction processes, and different automotive paint finishes.
- Exceptional eye for detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to maintain high standards under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Relevant automotive body and paint qualifications, such as a BTEC in Vehicle Technology, City & Guilds qualifications in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations, or IMI awards in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations.
- Experience in vehicle preparation, paint, and polish processes is highly desirable.
- NVQ in automotive production, repair, or paint application would be advantageous.
