Vehicle Paint Technician
Location: Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Salary: Up to £40,000 basic, depending on experience
Additional Earnings: Time-saved bonus and overtime opportunities
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Overtime: Available and paid at a flat rate

The Role
As a Paint Technician, you will prepare and refinish vehicles following accident damage and body repairs, ensuring every vehicle is completed to a consistently high professional standard.
You will work closely with Panel Beaters, MET Technicians and other bodyshop colleagues to keep vehicles moving efficiently through the repair process.
The role includes a time-saved bonus, with productive hours achieved above your attended hours rewarded at half of your agreed hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces ready for painting
- Clean, sand, mask and fill damaged or repaired areas
- Apply primers, basecoats and clearcoats using spray equipment
- Mix and match paint colours accurately
- Blend paintwork across adjoining panels where required
- Complete polishing, finishing and minor paint rectification
- Inspect completed paintwork to ensure a high-quality finish
- Identify defects or imperfections and complete corrective work
- Work on cars, fleet vehicles and light commercial vehicles
- Liaise with Panel Beaters and MET Technicians throughout the repair process
- Maintain spray guns, tools and bodyshop equipment
- Keep the paint preparation and spray areas clean and organised
- Work efficiently to meet repair deadlines and productivity targets
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
- Ensure work is completed in line with company and manufacturer standards

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Paint Technician, Vehicle Painter, Paint Sprayer or Automotive Refinisher
- The ability to complete the full vehicle paint process independently
- Strong paint preparation, colour matching and blending skills
- Experience using automotive spray equipment
- The ability to produce consistently high-quality finishes
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- The confidence to join a busy bodyshop and hit the ground running
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider repair team
- A reliable, organised and productive approach
- Bodyshop or accident repair experience
- A full UK driving licence
