Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Painter role based in the United Kingdom. The Painter will prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming as required for commercial and industrial projects. Daily duties include applying paints, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, and ensuring work is completed to agreed specifications and quality standards. The role involves reading and following job plans, measuring and mixing materials, protecting surrounding areas, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Painter will work as part of a team, communicate progress to supervisors, follow health and safety procedures, and help ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Ability to prepare surfaces (cleaning, sanding, filling, priming) and apply a range of paints, coatings, and finishes to commercial and industrial properties.
  • Skill in using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, with attention to detail and consistent, high-quality workmanship.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices on-site, including safe handling of materials, tools, and access equipment.
  • Capability to read and follow job specifications, measure and mix materials accurately, and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a professional attitude toward colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
  • Previous experience as a professional painter or decorator; experience in commercial or industrial settings is an advantage.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills; relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeships in painting and decorating are beneficial.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, stand for extended periods, and work at heights when required.
  • Reliable transportation to reach job sites across the region and flexibility to work standard full-time hours.
