Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to carry out painting, decorating, preparation, and finishing work in residential and/or commercial properties. The successful candidate will have good attention to detail, take pride in their work, and be able to complete projects to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, scraping, and repairing imperfections.
- Apply paint, varnish, stains, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes.
- Use brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other painting tools safely and effectively.
- Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, and surrounding areas before starting work.
- Mix and match colours and finishes as required.
- Carry out interior and exterior painting and decorating work.
- Complete work to agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe throughout the job.
- Identify and report any damage, defects, or additional work required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work independently or as part of a team, depending on the project.

Skills And Experience
- Previous experience as a Painter and Decorator is preferred.
- Good knowledge of painting and decorating techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work safely with ladders, access equipment, tools, and materials.
- Good time-management and organisational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.

Qualifications
A relevant painting and decorating qualification or apprenticeship is desirable but not essential where the candidate has suitable practical experience.
Working Conditions
The role may involve working indoors and outdoors, working at height, lifting materials and equipment, and travelling between different job sites.
