About The Job
To provide a high quality, customer and quality focused, Painting and Decorating service to commercial standards to properties across Hounslow.
To carry out a full range of preparatory works, to enable a quality decorative finish to be delivered, both externally and internally.
To work with client contracts ensuring statutory compliance, regulatory legislative responsibilities and other associated services are fulfilled
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out all aspects of painting and decorating of client’s premises, both internal and external to a high level of proficiency.
- To carry out a full range of preparatory works, to enable a quality decorative finish to be delivered, both externally and internally. This includes preparing surfaces with appropriate methods such as steaming, sanding or using power tools, repairing cracks, using sealants and fillers as required in the preparation of woodwork and washing them down to remove dust and grease.
- To undertake any decorative works required to deliver a quality finish to buildings and their components. This includes a full spectrum of painting techniques: stains, lacquers, enamel, oil, varnish, metal and fire-resistant coating.
- As required to work at heights (with appropriate training) using scaffold, cherry-pickers, scaffolding, cradles and ladders.
- Wallpapering abilities to good standard and finish.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources through effective ordering and use of materials, minimising waste and recycling wherever safe and possible.
- Undertake basic preparatory or associated works outside of specific trade specialisms and undertake other duties that support the business needs e.g., secondary and tertiary skills in other trades.

General
- The ability to plan ahead of each job, to inspect works and ensure the required materials and tools are available to enable works to be completed to programme timescales. Ensure materials required for daily runs of works are collected in advance to avoid unnecessary delays.
- Understand and follow Asbestos surveys.
- To work within a CDM site and follow the H&S guidelines.
- To be able to remove fixtures to allow decoration and replace.
- Patch plaster to 1 square meter to good finish.
- To always ensure the safety of oneself and others, by working within the councils Health and Safety policy and procedures.

Experience And Qualifications
- City & Guilds/NVQ 2-3
- PASMA & IPAF
- CAT/GENNY
- Full UK Driving License
Previous Experience And Skills Required
- Previous experience as a painter & decorator working in a commercially focused organisation.
- Good level of numeracy, literacy, written, oral and communication skills.
- General Health & Safety.
- Working at Heights.
- Coshh regulations.
- CDM regulations.
- Use of PPE.
- Working with Asbestos.
- Asbestos awareness training.
- Ability to complete works to the required specification and high standard.
- To be able to read, understand and interpret risk assessments and method statements.
- To be able to meet pre-determined deadlines and performance targets.
- Operate company ICT systems and hardware in order to receive and manage daily work schedules.
- To be able to drive, have a full driving licence and have use of a vehicle to carry materials.
- Use of basic tools commensurate with the work.
