The Lowry Hotel – Manchester’s iconic five-star hotel – is recruiting for a Painter and Decorator to join our Maintenance Team.

This role involves supporting the Assistant Facilities Manager with preventative and reactive repairs, decorating, and general maintenance throughout the hotel.

Role Overview

The primary focus of this role will be painting and decorating. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance of guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring that all areas are consistently presented to the high standards expected of a five-star hotel. Alongside the core painting and decorating responsibilities, the role will also involve responding to and prioritizing maintenance requests and carrying out a range of associated tasks. The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience required to carry out painting and decorating to a consistently high standard, with a good eye for detail and pride in their work. You will also be comfortable undertaking associated maintenance tasks when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Painting and Decorating: Maintain and enhance the appearance of guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Maintenance Requests: Respond to and prioritize maintenance requests.
  • Associated Tasks: Carry out a range of associated tasks as required.

Ideal Candidate

  • Skills and Experience: Ability to carry out painting and decorating to a high standard.
  • Attention to Detail: Good eye for detail and pride in work.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable with shift work, including weekends, early and late shifts.
  • Privacy and Discretion: Understanding and respecting the level of privacy and discretion required in a five-star hotel environment.
