About Us

Lancashire Cricket was formed in 1864 and is one of eighteen first-class counties within the domestic structure of England and Wales. Driven by our values, we are here to win, inspire play and make memories with the vision of being the best place to enjoy cricket in the world.

Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire Cricket, is an award-winning world-class stadium and venue. It is recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious venues for sport, business, leisure and entertainment with a capacity of up to 50,000 people for concerts; 26,000 for international cricket matches; meetings and events spaces for up to 2,000 delegates; a four-star hotel with 250 rooms; and an on-site Caffè Nero. It’s a unique place to build a career where no two days are ever the same!

The Opportunity

We are looking for someone to support our Maintenance team in ensuring all areas of the Stadium and Hotel are presented and maintained to a very high standard.

This is a hands-on role where you will assist with planned preventative maintenance and respond to reactive maintenance tasks across both sites. You’ll need a practical approach and an aptitude for carrying out basic property maintenance, including minor plumbing, helping to keep our facilities safe, functional and looking their best.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play an important role in keeping the Stadium and Hotel looking their best, with a particular focus on painting, decorating and general property maintenance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out internal and external painting and decorating, from day-to-day touch-ups through to larger improvement projects across the Hotel and Stadium.
  • Preparing surfaces, matching colours, applying paint and maintaining appropriate stocks of paints and materials.
  • Helping to ensure the Hotel is maintained in line with required brand standards.
  • Delivering planned improvement works within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Carrying out or assisting with general maintenance tasks outside of painting and decorating when required.
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and responding to reactive maintenance requests.
  • Carrying out basic building fabric and plumbing repairs, including repairs to toilets and flush mechanisms and unblocking drainage.
  • Assisting with external and industrial cleaning and general grounds work, particularly during the cricket season.
  • Supporting event set-up and providing maintenance cover when required.
  • Supporting other trades and contractors working across the Stadium and Hotel, including supervising contractors where required.
  • Assisting with emergency breakdowns and out-of-hours call-outs where required.
  • Assisting with risk assessments and safe systems of work, where appropriate.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
