Tesla is looking for a Painter / Vehicle Refinisher to work on one of the most progressive, innovative high end vehicle brands in the world. This position will involve being part of a refinishing team that deliver outstanding repairs in turn delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do
- To carry out preparation work to Tesla Standards using all required tooling and equipment.
- Collaborate with Senior Technicians in their work and move towards more complicated tasks as part of your development, continuously learning and developing your knowledge and skills
- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of refinish processes and operations
- Operate a variety of hand-powered and motorized shop tools, including operating heavy equipment during refinish processes.
- Work across teams, engaging and cooperating with other technicians and Bodyshop center staff.
- Follow all Tesla specified repair guidelines to the accepted quality levels, always following safety instructions with guidance from Senior technicians
- To polish and de-nib inclusions in the refinished areas
- To carry out work in a manner compliant to EHS policies adhering to manufacturer and industry guidelines.
- Complete understanding of primer application as well as sanding, masking and sealing.
- You will need to demonstrate competent skills and understanding of application of base coat, clear coat and 3 stage pearlescent finishes
- To be able to identify paint issue and demonstrate a good understanding to rectify to tesla quality standards.
- Provide feedback to the appropriate teams directly via the correct internal feedback channels, to enable continuous improvement of repair procedures and products.
- Act on escalations and collaborating with more senior technicians/ Team if further escalation is required for complex issues
- Carry out quality checks to ensure preparation work meets Tesla’s High Standards prior to carrying out any refinishing processes.
- To carry out work in a manner compliant to EHS policies adhering to manufacturer and industry guidelines.
- To Coach and mentor members of the team and lead by example.

- Basic computer skills, including navigating web browsers and standard applications Microsoft Word.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail
- Proven experience as an Automotive Painter in a body shop environment. Prior painting experience with Tesla vehicles will be considered a plus.
- Proven ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
- 3 years+ experience in painting and colour matching
- A clear understanding of health & safety and good housekeeping in the automotive environment.
- The ability to deliver the highest quality standard of repair every time.
- A good understanding of tools & equipment used for all refinishing processes.
- A valid driving license
